On Friday 1st July, a new body will control the running of the NHS in Greater Manchester as a result of the new law called the Health and Care Act 2022.
This is a major change which will have profound impact on everyone.
74 years after the public, free NHS was opened at Trafford General Hospital, on July 5th 1948, a threadbare, under-funded NHS in Greater Manchester is being set up. It might include profit-making private healthcare companies in its decision-making and strategy.
