As part of the Week of Action against the Hostile Environment and Refugee week on Wed 22nd June: at 7.30 Greater Manchester Patients Not Passports presents ‘NHS Borderlands’: a short investigative documentary into the human cost of charging migrants for accessing the NHS. The film explores the story of Angela, who fled persecution in Zimbabwe only to be subjected to Hostile Environment immigration policies in the UK and charged £8,000 for vital medical care. The meeting will also hear of the responses of our local Hospitals to the Open Letter calling on them to take such action as they can on this issue.
