“No room at the Hospital” protest will take place on Saturday 10th
December 1-2.30pm Albert Sq Xmas market.
Health users, health workers, pensioner and NHS campaign groups join
together to protest at the proposed reduction in NHS beds – 1000 in
Greater Manchester.
“Over 10,0000 beds have been closed in the last 5 years in England. We
have the lowest numbers of beds in Europe. 8.6 per 1000 in Germany, 6.2
in France, 5.2 EU average and only 2.8 in England! No wonder there are
queues outside every A+E. We cannot afford any more. the closures have
to stop” said Karen Reissmann, secretary of Save Bolton NHS.
The protest will involve Xmas protest cards to Jeremy Hunt (contact us if you want a copy)
and leaders of local councils, adapted carol singing, speeches and Christmas story telling.
