Two weeks ago it was announced that Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust have – for the time-being – reversed their decision to close the city’s 8 community specialist psycological services.
Alongside this victory nationally there is the on-going junior doctors dispute. Following the tremendous and well supported action taken earlier in the year, junior doctors in the BMA rejected an updated offer from Jeremy Hunt in early July and the organisation in currently debating what steps to take next.
Manchester Trades Council invites you to an open meeting to discuss the issues facing the NHS locally and nationally, how we defend and extend these services and how we can support those workers, like the junior doctors and local mental health workers to win their disputes.
We will be hearing from a local junior doctor and BMA activist about the current situation and from a representaitve from the Manhchester Community and Mental Health Unison branch.
