Public Discussion: The NHS in Tameside
Date: Thursday 26 May 2016

- Ms Estephanie Dunn, North West regional director, the Royal College of Nursing
- Local British Medical Association representatives
Background
Greater Manchester is now operating a devolved healthcare system and Tameside has become an ‘Integrated Care Organisation’. The general public is entitled to information about these very significant changes and to have the opportunity to discuss with medical, nursing staff and other staff any views and concerns about how services will be altering under these new systems.
Why a public discussion now?
Tameside Keep Our NHS Public believes far more openness is necessary and so wishes to enable discussion between members of the public, those who work in the health and social care system and those responsible for organising local services. We welcome any contributions you may wish to share. We are sending invitations to all Tameside MPs, local councillors, Clinical Commissioning Group members, surgeries, hospital staff and patient groups – all who are interested in this matter – as our NHS is of vital interest to most members of the public.
