Stockport Against Mental Health Cuts

PLANS TO CUT MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKERS
Stockport Council is proposing cuts to mental health support workers in community mental health teams. These teams have suffered an 8% cut already, with planned new cuts proposals on their way for consultation.
Support workers have a unique and important role in providing much needed support to people with serious mental illness and complex health needs in the borough. They are a vital part of providing people with the support needed to stay in their own homes and to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
The community mental health teams could not function without them.
We will also be gathering further signatures to save the Wellbeing Centre.
Come and join us petitioning in Stockport Town centre on Saturday 26th September, 11- 1pm, Warren Street, opposite Laura Ashley.
